I
am happy to introduce you to the opportunity to develop certified instructors
dedicated to advancing the use of Dr. Edward de Bono’s thinking methods
worldwide. de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. has been selected by Dr. de Bono to train and certify a group of highly
qualified independent and in-house corporate instructors in the art of teaching
Dr. de Bono’s methods.
As
a very experienced entrepreneurial member of the
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. worldwide network my role
is to lead you through this process, help you plan a successful introduction
into your organization, process the ordering of your materials, and ensure your
special needs are met.
The
five Edward de Bono methods in which instructors are currently being certified
are - The Six Thinking HatsŇ,
Edward de Bono’s Course in Creativity: Lateral ThinkingÔ
Module 1, DATT: Direct Attention Thinking ToolsÔ,
Focus on Facilitation™ and Simplicity™.
Those
who successfully complete the certification programs are authorized to teach the
courses to others using the materials approved by Dr. de Bono. In all cases
where certified instructors teach Dr. de Bono’s concepts to others, use of
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc.
material is required. Only certified instructors have access to these
materials. They are available for you to order from, The Opportunity Thinker/de
Bono for Business
once certification is achieved.
The
Certification Process
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc.
is entrusting selected instructors with intellectual properties of great value
and asking them to represent the creator of these properties, Dr. Edward de
Bono, in a way that will sustain the personal reputation, credibility, and
authority he has established over 35 years of work in 45 countries around the
world. Therefore, the selection process requires proof of professional
accomplishment, personal integrity, firm commitment, as well as adequate
opportunity to widely and effectively disseminate the programs. To meet this
need,
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. has designed a certification system that will identify and develop
only qualified instructors:
1.
Candidates for certification submit their application and three
references to The Opportunity Thinker/de Bono for Business.
2.
Once your application is accepted, you will receive the Train-the-Trainer
registration materials, an invoice and a contract, along with details of the
Train-the-Trainer program - your invitation to become a certified instructor in
Edward de Bono’s thinking methods programs.
3.
Accepted candidates who wish to proceed should return the registration,
signed contract, and required fee by the scheduled deadline.
4.
Accepted candidates attend the Train-the-Trainer seminar.
5.
Certified instructors recruit participants and conduct the course.
6.
You can strengthen your program launch by retaining The Opportunity
Thinker on a
defined project basis to:

Conduct
executive level pilot programs to help build relevant support for the initiative
·
Help
establish links with corporate strategy to ensure the focus is on targeted
results
·
Provide
instructor workshop coaching and feedback for continued instructor development
·
Develop
skilled in-house High-Stakes Power Facilitators to support use of the tools on a
continuing basis
If four or more from your company are attending certification at the same time we
recommend that we conduct your certification in-house. This
is a great way to develop a powerful customized program to meet the special

The Instructor's Manual, workshop DVD's and PowerPoint CD are included in your
certification fee.
Each
person who successfully completes the
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. certification will receive a two-year
probationary certificate and access to all required course materials. Upon
completion of certification training you will be invoiced for 24 sets of
materials. They will be shipped to your attention. This is to ensure that training
classes are planned, and that you deliver your first couple of teaches quickly
in order to capitalize on your certification knowledge.
At
the end of two years, those certified independent and in-house corporate
instructors who have remained active and have demonstrated competency will have
the opportunity to renew their certification.
There
is a minimum purchase requirement of 24 sets of materials for each year you are
certified.
Summary
of Certification Agreement for Certified Instructors
On
successful completion of either of the certification programs, trainers will
receive certification to teach the course they have attended in their own or
other organizations. The terms of the agreement will be as follows:
1.
At the request of the Applicant and contingent upon payment of the fee
and full attendance at each segment of one of Edward de Bono’s
Train-the-Trainer programs, de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. grants to Applicant the right to become a
certified trainer of the course attended for two years. Certification is
renewable after two years upon successful performance.
2.
Applicant is certifying with the intent to teach the chosen course to
other members of his or her organization or other organizations (in the case of
independent consultants). Applicant understands that he or she is in no manner
to be considered an employee or other agent neither of de Bono Thinking Systems,
Inc. nor of Dr. Edward de
Bono.
3.
The only fee that Applicant will pay in order to become a certified
trainer in de Bono methods for two years is the price assigned to the
certification training.
4.
Continued certification requires demonstration of training activity on a
yearly basis.
5.
The specific applicant who attends the session is the only person
certified to deliver the training. Each additional instructor must attend an
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. Train-the-Trainer seminar conducted by a
certified Master
Trainer. Certified instructors are not qualified nor permitted to train other
instructors to deliver the course.
6.
All certified instructors are required to use the de Bono Thinking
Systems, Inc. Facilitator’s
Manual for all training sessions and to furnish each individual trained with an
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. participant’s kit. Certified trainers will have purchasing access to
additional de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. materials, which may be produced from time to time.
7.
Reproduction or transmittal of the de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. de Bono course materials by any
means constitutes an infringement of applicable copyright laws. Applicant agrees
not to reproduce or transmit the materials without written permission from de
Bono Thinking Systems, Inc..
8.
The certification of an de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. trainer may be terminated immediately for
cause upon thirty days written notice by either party as provided in this
agreement.
9.
Upon acceptance for certification, participants will be asked to sign a
contract, which will require them to respect the above points.
Special
Note on the Training Focus
This
program is designed for experienced corporate and independent trainers;
therefore, training techniques will not be taught.
Your
application will be used to determine your eligibility for
de Bono Thinking Systems, Inc. certification,
so its prompt submission is imperative. Submission of an application carries no
obligation and requires no fee. Act now.
